CBPP DISEASE SIGNS
- Fever to 40° C
- A drop in milk yield
- Reluctance to move and eat.
- Difficult or noisy breathing
- Discharges from the nose or mouth.
- Coughing, especially after exercise.
- Painful chest area.
- Deaths in the herd.
Contagious bovine pleuropneumonia (CBPP) is an infectious and highly contagious disease of cattle. Affected animals have difficulty in breathing due to damage to the lungs, lose body condition and a proportion die. All ages of cattle are susceptible but young cattle develop joint swellings rather than lung infections.
