SIGNS OF ENTEROTOXAEMIA
- Abdominal pain (kicking at the belly).
- Watery or even bloody diarrhea.
- Animal goes off feed and becomes lethargic.
- Panting.
- Drunken appearance with depression.
Goats far along in Enterotoxemia will lay on their side with extended legs, stretch their neck up, and lay it over their withers.
This is caused by the toxins that are in the goat’s brain.
After laying on the side death follows in a matter of minutes or hours. Enterotoxemia progresses fast and it is hard to witness the signs or symptoms before you find the sheep or goats deceased. This is especially true if it happens overnight.
